What is a primary air filter?

Primary air filters are suitable for the preliminary filtration of central air conditioning systems, such as the fresh air systems in office buildings and shopping malls, as well as the pre-filtration in electronic factories and food processing workshops. They are also used for air pretreatment in general hospital departments, mainly to filter dust particles larger than 5μm.
Primary air filters come in three styles: panel-type, pleated-type, and bag-type. The frame materials include cardboard frames, aluminum frames, and galvanized iron frames.
The filter media of primary air filters typically include:
Non-woven fabric
Nylon mesh
Metal mesh
The protective screens are usually made of double-sided plastic-coated wire mesh or double-sided galvanized wire mesh.
Primary air filters operate on the principle of physical interception, using specially designed fiber layers to capture large airborne particles. When air passes through the filter media, particles larger than 5 micrometers in diameter are effectively trapped. While the design may appear simple, it actually incorporates sophisticated principles of fluid dynamics and materials science.
Key Advantages:
Cost-Effective
Compared to medium- and high-efficiency filters, primary filters cost only 1/3 to 1/5 of the price.
Long Service Life
Under standard operating conditions, they can last 3 to 6 months.
Easy Maintenance
Most models support washable and reusable designs
