Installation and Usage Instructions for Central Air Conditioning System Air Filters
1.1 Air handling units should be equipped with corresponding installation tracks or frames to facilitate filter installation.
1.2 During installation:
- Filter frame arrows should align with airflow direction
- V-type filters require vertical orientation of “V” shape perpendicular to ground
- Pleated panel filters should have fold lines vertical to ground
- Mesh-reinforced panel filters need fold lines vertical to ground with galvanized mesh on outlet side
- Bag filters should have bag opening length direction perpendicular to ground
1.3 Standard replacement intervals: - Primary filters: 1-3 months
- Medium/high-efficiency filters: 3-6 months or based on pressure differential alerts
1.4 Replace filters when pressure gauges/sensors indicate preset differential values.
1.5 Stop AC unit operation during filter replacement.
1.6 Operational face velocity should not exceed 1.25× rated value.
- Electrostatic Filters
2.1 Installation sequence: Framework → Ionization units → Pre-filters
2.2 Units can be horizontally aligned or vertically stacked using M4 self-tapping screws. Support framework required for >2 layers.
2.3 Install circuit breakers for each power supply group.
2.4 Integrate power supply with fan control circuit for system synchronization.
2.5 Post-installation verification:
- Power indicator ON
- Cleaning/fault indicators OFF
2.6 Confirm power disconnection before maintenance.
2.7 Cleaning requirements: - Efficiency decreases with dust accumulation
- Regular cleaning of ionization units & pre-filters (typical 3-month cycle)
2.8 Cleaning protocol: - Use ultrasonic cleaners (40kHz) with specialized detergent
- Water temperature 40-45°C
2.9 Cleaning sequence: Ionization units → Pre-filters → Framework rinsing
2.10 Ensure complete drying before reassembly.
- Photocatalytic Filters
3.1 Unit/duct-type models can be horizontally aligned or vertically stacked (M4 screws). Support framework required for >2 layers.
3.2 Pre-installation: Thoroughly clean internal surfaces to prevent catalyst contamination.
3.3 Synchronize power supply with fan control circuit.
3.4 Confirm power disconnection before servicing.
3.5 Operational check: All unit power indicators should illuminate.
3.6 Maintenance schedule:
- Annual replacement of UV lamps & catalyst mesh
3.7 Safety notice: Avoid direct exposure to UV radiation.
3.8 Disconnect all power during prolonged inactivity.
- Activated Carbon Filters
4.1 Install with matching tracks/frames (requirements identical to panel/bag filters).
4.2 Pre-installation: Complete unit cleaning required.
4.3 Installation alignment: Frame arrows matching airflow direction.
4.4 Operational face velocity ≤1.25× rated value.
4.5 Regeneration/replacement required at adsorption saturation.
4.6 Regeneration methods:
- Standard carbon: Thermal/steam treatment
- Impregnated carbon: Mandatory replacement
4.7 Determine saturation by: - Post-filter pollutant concentrations
- Empirical experience (max 1-year service life)
- General Requirements
Prior to installation of all filters specified in drawings:
- Verify model dimensions against design specifications
- Confirm complete certification documentation
- Conduct visual inspection for integrity
- Thoroughly review manufacturer instructions
